Definition of Science  News :

Latin word Scientia meaning “knowledge” or discovery of new things and explain it’s properties in a very logical way. Scientific News is one of the most critical verticals of Journalism. It reports the scientific advances and updates of the world through print, word of mouth, audio, television, and the internet. Research on  science started from way back from Mesopotamia in 3000 -3500 Bce. Ancient Later, it took more organized shape with the development of Greek or Roman civilization. The science includes branches like physics, chemistry, mathematics, and biology, and later it is diversified in medical sciences and technological sciences or development of Engineering. Scientific journalism is more specific. The accuracy, precision of the content should have information-based or Research-based. So the content in scientific journals is usually drive-by scientists or students or researchers and professors. Professional journalists, journals, articles, scientific papers are all written by the professional or researcher of that subject.

 Categories of Science News:

 Science News or   Journalism is detailed, to the point, less jargon based article written by often scientists such a subtle way that even lay man or who has less knowledge on science can understand and can share their views. One way science journalism is to communicate highly research-based articles which only caters to the students of that subject.

  On the contrary, there is a lot of science fiction, stories many fun-based articles on science that are more jargon-based, and ordinary people or who do not know much about science can easily understand it and communicate.  Fraudulent or spurious junk science news that often takes part in determining the government’s political position.

 Millions of scientific journals of various subjects like The Astronomical Journal is a   monthly scientific journal recommended by AAS.

 Astronomical   News was established in 1849 by Benjamin A. Gould. The first electronic edition of The Astronomical Journal was published in January 1998.

Accounts of Chemical Research is a monthly scientific journal published by the American Chemical Society containing overviews of basic research and applications in chemistry and biochemistry.

 Chemical Communications is a peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the Royal Society of Chemistry.

Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics is an open-access peer-reviewed scientific journal published by the European Geosciences Union. It covers research on the Earth’s atmosphere.

Many journals have a regional focus, specializing in publishing papers from a particular geographic region, like African Invertebrates.

For the budget cuts in newspapers and other media, there are fewer working science journalists working for traditional print and broadcast media than before.

News coverage on science by traditional media outlets, such as newspapers, magazines, radio, and news broadcasts, is being replaced by online sources. In April 2012, the New York Times was awarded two Pulitzer Prizes for content published by Politico and The Huffington Post, both online sources, a sign of the platform shift by the media outlet.

Substance :

Science is based on research,   usually practiced in academic and research institutions, to advise government agencies. It gives birth to science policies to develop commercial products, armaments, health care, and the environment.
